Annie Yu
President
Annie Z. Yu is the president of AAJA-DC and a deputy Congress editor at POLITICO. She spent most of her professional career on newsroom audience and engagement teams before pivoting to a role fully focused on editing. She's been deeply invested in strengthening connections among journalists of color and building community among AAJA members ever since she joined as a student in 2012.

Nicholas Wu
Vice President of Communications and Treasurer
Nicholas Wu is currently a Congressional Reporter at POLITICO, where he’s covered the congressional response to the Jan. 6 insurrection and the legislative battles over President Joe Biden’s agenda, among many other issues on the Hill. He previously worked as a Congressional Reporter and a breaking political news reporter at USA TODAY and as a fellow at National Journal. -
Kelyn Soong
National Advisory Board Representative
Kelyn Soong is the content specialist at Georgetown University College of Arts & Sciences. He writes stories on the faculty, staff, students and alumni for the College’s website and also edits its print magazine, Georgetown Arts & Sciences. Kelyn previously worked as a staff writer for The Washington Post and sports editor for Washington City Paper. He ran the New York City Marathon for the inaugural Team AAJA in 2022.

Moriah Balingit is a national reporter covering early education and child care at The Associated Press. She was previously a national education correspondent at the Washington Post. Moriah has been a member of AAJA since 2009.

Kenichi Serino is currently a deputy news digital editor at PBS Newshour and co-leader of AAJA's Mentor Match program.

Adrianna Gao Zhang
Vice President of Leadership Programming
Adrianna Gao Zhang is a multimedia editor and journalist at Voice of America, with over a decade of experience covering the U.S., China, and everything in between across TV, radio, web, and social media. She is also part of the 2025 cohort of AAJA’s Executive Leadership Program, where she hones her leadership skills and explores new career opportunities. Born and raised in China, she's a native speaker of Mandarin.
